Official 8th Anniversary Announcement
The Our Lady of the Pillar Cathedral Choir celebrates its eighth anniversary today - September 24, 2103 - with enthusiasm and vigor as it looks forward to more years of praising God through music.
For almost a decade, the choir has remained true to the vision and mission of MusiCaviteño as laid down by its incorporators under the aegis of the former Bishop of the Diocese of Imus, now Manila Archbishop, Chito Tagle. Today, the Our Lady of the Pillar Cathedral Choir has evolved in its musical and organizational leadership.
Last May, the choir elected its first set of officers with Rudolf Anthony Balerite (PCDA Active Member) as the choir president. Leading the different offices are Veronica Albaira for membership (PCDA Red Card Member), Candelaria Handog for finance, Mary Jane Penelope Gatpatan for archives & properties, and Keesee Gomez for communications. Unbeknownst to many, the musical leadership has also expanded with Veronica Albaira, Kendrick Lawrence Delgado (PCDA Applicant) and Rodiño Mendoza taking turns at the podium.
As the Our Lady of the Pillar Cathedral Choir embarks on its ninth year, the choir is pleased to announce the appointment of Kendrick Lawrence Delgado as its first resident conductor. Kendrick will be directing OLPCC for 2013-2014.
The choir is also renewing Oscar Pantaleon Jr. (PCDA Secretary General) as its music director and principal conductor. In the spirit of 'bayanihan' among its members and fostering growth of choral directors among its ranks, OLPCC will be assigning music leadership tasks to its interested choristers as well.
With these changes in place, the Our Lady of the Pillar Cathedral Choir is poised to continue its mandate of sharing its God-given gifts with various audiences throughout the Diocese of Imus and beyond.
